First Sunday Forum:Environment, Climate, and Community Voice

  • Emmanuel Episcopal Church 811 Cathedral Street Baltimore, MD, 21201 United States (map)

Join us at the January Forum as nationally recognized policy leader Scot Spencer shares his perspective on environmental, transportation and climate issues and the critical role of community voice and advocacy in supporting policies that benefit people and the places they live. Gather in the Gallery to hear his perspective on the potential policy shifts ahead, their impact on urban areas, and how we can work together to create stronger, more inclusive neighborhoods.

Drawing on his extensive background in urban revitalization, Mr. Spencer will explore the challenges and opportunities communities may face in the coming years. Previously, he led Casey Foundation investments in East Baltimore, where he worked to strengthen community and economic development in a historic, low-income neighborhood. His career includes roles as a transportation specialist at the Environmental Defense Fund, deputy director of the Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition; and leader of the federal Bridges to Work initiative, which connected Baltimore residents to suburban employment opportunities.

Mr. Spencer’s expertise extends to civic leadership, serving on the boards of organizations like Baltimore Center Stage, Central Maryland Transportation Alliance, and the Baltimore Regional Transit Commission. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to building equitable, resilient communities.

Our program will provide the opportunity for questions and discussion. Light refreshments provided.
