Worship Together as Lent Begins
12 Noon service in Eccleston Chapel (spoken)
Lent is a season of the church lasting from Ash Wednesday until the services of Holy Week (the days just before and including Easter). It is a season of preparation, of stripping away any burdens we carry on our hearts and souls and letting God move in and through us, making us ready for the journey to the cross and on into the glory of resurrection. Lent is solemn, but not sad and certainly not punishing. Some people think of it as spiritual spring cleaning. And it all begins on Ash Wednesday, one of the most important days of the church year - right up there with Christmas and Easter. Please come to Emmanuel and join with your siblings in the spirit as we begin our Lenten journey together.
