BACH: Goldberg Variations

  • Emmanuel Episcopal Church 811 Cathedral Street Baltimore, MD, 21201 United States (map)

**This program replaces Beau Soir Ensemble, which had to withdraw due to illness**

The Goldberg Variations is one of the most celebrated works in the Western classical music canon, representing the apex of Johann Sebastian Bach’s compositional output for keyboard.

This rarely heard and technically demanding transcription for string trio highlights the brilliant virtuosity and endless creativity of Bach’s writing, at the same time connecting to the unique lyrical and textural possibilities of string instruments. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this life-affirming work of staggering beauty in a new way.

Joseph Gotoff is faculty at Towson University; Zino Bogachek is a member of the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra; and Natasha Bogachek is a member of the National Symphony Orchestra.
