The Goldberg Variations is one of the most celebrated works in the Western classical music canon, representing the apex of Johann Sebastian Bach’s compositional output for keyboard.
This rarely heard and technically demanding transcription for string trio highlights the brilliant virtuosity and endless creativity of Bach’s writing, at the same time connecting to the unique lyrical and textural possibilities of string instruments.
