About Emmanuel’s Outreach Grants
Overview
Each year, Emmanuel Episcopal Church makes grants of approximately $1000 to $10,000 primarily in the areas of education, environmental justice, social services, and re-entry services to nonprofit organizations serving marginalized populations in Baltimore City. We seek opportunities to invest in organizations that improve the quality of life of people living in Baltimore City.
To be considered for funding, an organization must meet several requirements:
Applicants must be nonprofit organizations as defined in Section 501(c)(3) or Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Applicants must carry on their work principally in Baltimore City.
Applicants may not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, disabilities, or gender.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church does not provide funds for:
Endowments
Individuals
Building campaigns
Deficit financing
Annual giving
Publications
Political action groups
Projects normally financed by government
Applicants are expected to demonstrate adequate administrative capacity and financial stability in their requests.
Timeline
A request for applications is generally publicized in early March each year and grants are for a term of one year (12 months). Applications are usually by mid-April. Late applications will not be reviewed. Notifications of awards are usually sent out in early-May.
Reporting requirements
Emmanuel requires a final report approximately 30 days after the end of the grant period. A link to an online final report will be made available to all grant recipients. Grantees that do not submit a final report will not be considered for future funding.
