Join the Emmanuel Choir for a traditional service of nine lessons and carols for Christmas.
In the venerable tradition of King's College, Cambridge, the choir will retell the timeless story of Christ's birth with traditional readings and glorious choral music. The congregation contributes by singing some of the great Christmas hymns, including "O, come, all ye faithful" and "Hark! the herald angels sing."
In addition to offering the world-premiere performance of a new carol by Graham Gordon Ramsay, the choir sings works of JP Sweelinck, Thomas LaVoy, Michael Praetorius, Simon Preston, GP da Palestrina, Margaret Rizza, James Burton, Peter Warlock, Jonathan Dove, Morten Lauridsen, and Mack Wilberg.
Organist Manuel Piazza performs an organ recital of seasonal music at 6:30 p.m., followed by the service at 7:00 p.m.
All are invited. Free admission. Masks required.
