Glorious!

Emmanuel's music tradition is a long and rich one, music playing a vital role in both worship and special events.  Emmanuel boasts a professional choir, for the last decade under the direction of organist and choirmaster Dr. John Bowen.  Emmanuel also has an exceptional "artist-in-residence" series, featuring the renowned Opera Vivente, which mounts three operaproductions in English each year. Visit the opera's website at www.OperaVivente.org.  As the church website is enhanced, we hope to add audio so you can hear our outstanding organist and choir.  You can hear them "live" on Sundays at the 10:30 a.m. service, as well as on festive holidays in the church calendar.

Installation of Emmanuel's new Letourneau Opus 114 pipe organ was complete just before Easter, 2009, and several special events featuring this "glorious" new instrument are being planned for the 2009-10 season.

Terry Eagleton on the God Debate

Terry Eagleton's book Reason, Faith, and Revolution: Reflections on the God Debate, offers a devasting critique of recent works by Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens (whom he refers to collectively as "Ditchkins").  It is brilliant, provocative, and very, very funny.  It is based on his 2008 Terry Lectures delivered at Yale.  You can view these lectures on the link below.
